Elders

Wayne & Sheri Schatz

Wayne Schatz

Wayne has faithfully served the Lord at Oak City Fellowship since moving to Youngsville, North Carolina, with his wife of 24 years, Sheri, in 2008. The Schatzes have an adult daughter and two grandsons.

At the age of 47, Wayne repented of his sins and gave his life to the Lord and was baptized by Mark Edwards in 2012. He serves as an elder at OCF, and ministers pastorally, with strong gifts of mercy and healing. Wayne is dedicated to following the Holy Spirit’s calling to share the good news of Christ Jesus wherever he goes and enjoys being a friend.

Sheri Schatz

Shirilyn (Sheri) has served as an elder of Oak City Fellowship since 2014. Her passion is to love God and others and make disciples.

Sheri brings a warmth of Spirit everywhere she goes. She accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior at the age of 32 and was baptized by Mark Edwards in 2008. Sheri freely shares her gifts of encouragement, hospitality, leadership, and administration, and is a wonderful example of a loving person "who has never met a stranger."
